Scrapbook Travel Box

Finally finished our Thialand and China scrapbook box.  After out trip to England and spending many years working on a scrapbook album I needed to find a less time consuming way to organize our travels.  Especially now that we are retired and are spending much of our time traveling around the county as well as overseas.  I came across the idea for the scrapbook box on Pinterest that Martha Stewart had done and decided that would be the perfect solution for me.

I started with a plan wood box from Michaels

Then I painted the outside of the box

Now for the fun part!!  Decorating the outside of the box using scrapbook paper with Matte Mod Podge and scrapbook decorations

Decorating the inside of the box the same way.  Hardest part was decided which pictures to use!

Cardboard Scrap Book

 

We returned from a recent trip to Thailand and Hong Kong in November and I decided to do a small scrapbook that contains journal entries and small mementos from our trip instead of the traditional scrapbook.   I am currently working on a memory box that will hold our photos and other keepsakes from our trip

 

 

I took an old cardboard box and cut it down to 6x3.5". 

 

Once it was cut down I used scrapbook paper to cover the cardboard leaving the edges exposed and punched holes in the side to create a binder using twine. 

 

All that was left to do was add my journal entries and embellish.  For souvenir ticket stubs I just made a quick envelope to hold onto the keepsakes.
